QTree Pty Ltd (ABN 86 127 624 551) operates as QTree Vegetation Assessment and QTree Geospatial.
QTree has increased its focus on remote sensing and now has the expertise of Dr. Jigme "Jimmy" Thinley, who has recently completed his PhD at Griffith University on Multi-Scale Characterization of Urban Forests Using Machine Learning and Hyperspectral Remote Sensing. He has completed an impressive collection of geospatial projects to date, internationally and in Australia.
Derek Johnson's five year study of Recovery Responses of Koala Habitat After Fire is now complete (2020-2024), with a PhD completed through the University of the Sunshine Coast. QTree has now resumed ecological and geospatial consulting, and thanks the Australian Koala Foundation for its funding and support for that intensive koala study. Findings and publications to date can be found here. Research on fire recovery and koala population recovery in that area is continuing.
