Dr Jigme Thinley is an internationally recognised scientist and innovator specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Geospatial Science, and Earth Observation (EO). With over a decade of multidisciplinary research and innovation experience across Australia, Europe (Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy & Austria) and Asia (Bhutan, Nepal, India, Singapore) he has pioneered AI-integrated and LiDAR analytics for environmental intelligence, climate resilience, and sustainable resource management.

His research has been supported by world-leading institutions including the European Space Agency (ESA), ETH Zurich, Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), and University of Fribourg, generating competitive funding exceeding AUD 1.2 million. Dr. Thinley’s work has produced high impact publications, advanced data-driven models for biodiversity monitoring and disaster management, and shaped national policies in climate adaption and forestry innovation.
